Join us on Thursday, February 21st from 6:30-8 for the first in our "In Conversation With" series of evenings with prominent local book-lovers! Enjoy appetizers and wine while Face in a Book-owner Tina Ferguson talks books with writer Allen Pierleoni.
Freelance writer, editor, and reviewer Allen Pierleoni grew up in Miami, where he checked out so many books at his school libraries that the librarians expressed concern to his teachers. His first job out of the University of Florida was at the Miami Herald, as an editor and writer for its Sunday magazine. There, he developed his interviewing skills, specializing in profiles of area authors and celebrities. He continued his career at the San Jose Mercury News and, later, at the Sacramento Bee, writing travel pieces, restaurant reviews, and the weekly book column. For 16 years, he led the Sacramento Bee Book Club, introducing nationally known, bestselling authors to the community, and conducting interviews with them in front of audiences of up to 1,200.
"In Conversation With" is limited to 25 attendees. Call or drop in the bookstore to purchase your $5 ticket - then join us on February 21st!
