Meet YA Author Mark Parsons!

We're thrilled to welcome author Mark Parsons and celebrate his new YA novel, The 9:09 Project! This thoughtful exploration about finding oneself and learning to hope after loss follows Jamison, who finds solace after his mother's death by using his camera - the Nikon his mother had given to him - to take photos of ordinary people on the street. As he focuses his lens on random people, at the same time and place each night, Jamison's endeavor turns into a school project, and then into something more.

Kirkus Reviews gave The 9:09 Project a starred review, calling it "A wryly funny, extremely intelligent, and sweetly romantic contemporary novel." Publishers Weekly calls it "a character-driven work that celebrates the healing power of connection and creativity, encouraging readers to take a closer look at the world around them."

And a bonus! Mark's wife, Wendelin Van Drannen, will be here too! Wendelin's the author of Flipped, The Peach Rebellion, and many other fine books, including her writing memoir, Hope in the Mail. Mark and Wendelin will discuss their books, and the ins and outs of writing and publishing, at Face in a Book on Wednesday, December 7th, from 5-6 pm. Join us for this exciting event!
